Oh my. So sorry! Wish I'd known you 40 yrs ago. My husband was a landscaper. He would have told you not to do it. On a slightly different note... your humor in all of this is absolutely hilarious! I can't wait to hear the final chapter! Love the part about the moat!!!!
I'm so glad I saved this email to read when I had time, Karen! What an [expensive] adventure to say the least!! We had a sycamore tree in our front yard but eventually had it removed. Obviously that was a good move... Goodness. Love your writing style and sharing your latest adventure. Thanks for your sense of humor in this day 'n age!!! XOXOX
You always crack me up! We just had to remove a bunch of trees and shrubs around our house (anything w/in 10 feet) due to fire insurance rules, which some say will soon be California law. I'm trying to see the silver lining in that some of the not-so big looking shrubs and BIG roots that were starting to crack up the driveway! So glad we nipped that in the "bud" so-to-speak. Hoping we're also avoiding future plumbing. Thanks for adding to my silver lining. We're overdue for lunch or whatever!
I would like to be the body in the hole in your next novel. Then weird cousin who lived in a retirement community in Carmel. By the way, we just had our first crime wave here in 55 years. Someone stabbed his mother ,. She survived he was arrested.
Not sure what we are going to do.
Good story about homeowners nightmare. I'm rooting for you!

Note to self: No more sycamore unless you want to be poor. Glad you’ve kept your sense of humor.
